Current owners are wishing to retire - hoping to pass along this amazingly successful business to another family of pet lovers. Old Farm Kennels does no media advertising, yet, through word of mouth and vet recommendations, the business's gross sales continue to increase annually. 2007 gross sales were $172,000, and despite the state of the national economy and gas prices, the kennel is on track to exceed last years' sales. As of October 1, 2008, the kennel charges $12 per day for one dog. Multi dog families are charged $20 for 2 dogs and an additional $8 for each dog thereafter. Cat owners are charged $8 per day for one cat; $15 per day for two. A 10% discount is given for stays over 30 days. We have comfortably accomodated up to and exceeding 85 dogs over major holidays. We average 30+ dogs during week days; 60+ over weekends. Every weekend throughout the summer is booked in advance. Satisfied pet owners are driving 60+ miles - one way - bypassing a dozen other kennels, to reach our facility, knowing they can depend on their dogs being healthy and happy after their kennel visit, obviously having been cared for with love & compassion. Along with the kennel, the property includes 4.78 acres, a 2400 sq.ft. 3bed 3bath newly remodeled inside and out Victorian home; a separte double apartment complex with triple garage, which could easily rent out for $6000 annually; pasture area for grazing livestock; deeded water rights from the Bitterroot River and sprinkler irrigation for all the property's vegetation; weekly rent payment from the professional groomer which takes care of the utility bills for the kennel and apartments; a second home-based retail business - the only one of its kind in western Montana - with a sizeable inventory of high quality, detailed concrete landscaping statuary and 6000 pound forklift. The kennel's rural setting is just off the pavement and within a 5 minute drive to the small town of Florence, the grocery store, bank, post office, school, vet and doctor's offices. The college town of Missoula is a 25 minute drive north on a 4 lane hiway, offering all the commercial and medical amenities necessary to "big city" living. Shane, the current owner, would be willing to continue living on-site, training the new owners and acquainting them with the customers, until such time as the new owners felt comfortable enough to go it alone - up to 6 months if necessary. For more information about the kennel, call 406-273-6837 or email jerebeardogs@gmail.com For more information about the area, google Ravalli County and/or Missoula County.
